HOW OFTEN?

How often should you visit the groomers?

Regular grooming is essential for your dogs well being and health. It will prevent the coat from matting and will allow the natural oils to circulate to the coat.If you brush your dog frequently between visits it really helps prevent matting and knotting.

PUPPIES FIRST VISIT:

BETWEEN  8 -12 WEEKS:

To introduce the little one to a new surrounding and all the different sounds including  the dryer, shower, etc: But the most important thing is to play and give lots of attention while bathing grooming or trimming, also it would be a good idea to bring a toy which they are familiar with the feel and smell.

EVERY 4 -6 WEEKS:

Shih Tzu

Bichon Frise

HAND STRIPPING EVERY 6 MONTHS?

Or when dead coat is easy to remove. Hand stripping is a different way of grooming a dog, and is only suitable for certain breeds, it is used to maintain the correct coat texture and colour. Using your finger and thumb is the best way to hand strip removing all the dead under coat and dead top coat. I recommend every 6 months or when the coat is long and shaggy and you can see clumps of hair which you will find the hair will be  easily to take out when you pull it with your finger and thumb.
